Picture Of The Day

bowie

Who knew ordinary wood could achieve such a level of complete and total Bossness. I'd fight a gaggle of angry Sasquatch to possess it.

Hippies, LSD, and Hotdogs

Check out these fantastic dirty hippie Halloween getups I found on No Smoking In The Skullcave:

hippie 1

Pretty awesome. That reminded me of the 60's, which made me think of LSD, which made me think of Propaganda, which helped me find this. I promise you, you will never see hot dogs the same way again.

Sarcastic Spelling Lesson

greatest-animated-gif

If it wasn't for Firefox's spell check, this entire blog would have the comprehensibility of a dyslexic drunken text message, so I have to say I found this useful in an annoying sort of way.

You wanna see tough?

Found this a while back and forgot to post it. Blame internet ADD. It's a video of the world's toughest men demonstrating their extremely lethal fighting techniques. And by extremely lethal I mean ludicrously inept. Still, I'd pay in the tens of dollars for these guys to protect the moat around my future post-apocalyptic bunker.

Unleash the motherfucking moonwalk!!!! ROFL!

Fast Film

For this amazing short film, Director Virgil Widrich captured stills from the 300 movies, and made over 65,000 photocopies of these, then folded them into a variety of shapes and animated them.

I'd need a bucket of Ritalin to even conceive of this.

(for more on the movie, go here.)

Karate Chicken

I'm not surprised at all that martial arts enrages chickens. I'm just amazed at how fast it can run.

Erik Blevin's Kick Ass Movie Pitches

1998915409_1999998464_monkey_typewriter

These are movie pitches written by a guy named Erik Blevins sent to Patton Oswalt. the story according to Oswalt: " On Valentine's Day, 1998, I received the first of many letters from a Staples employee named Erik Blevins. He is an aspiring screenwriter. He'd spotted me for the eight seconds I was onscreen in a film called Down Periscope and became convinced that I can 'get movies done.'"

This guy is truly brilliant. Tell me you wouldn't throw down 10 bucks to see "Black Jaws" on the big screen.

Turkish Star Wars- Push It To The Limit

Someone who clearly must be some kind of wizard and/or genius mashed up the breathtaking training montage from Turkish Star Wars with the song from the Scarface montage "Push It To The Limit". Dear lord. It is like chicken soup for my crappy foreign-rip-off film-loving soul. Fucking amazing. Even without the John Williams copyright lawsuit baiting panache of the original soundtrack.

Picture Of The Day

bruce_potts

"Bruce Potts is a teacher of Public Speaking at the University of New Mexico and has a full tribal face tattoo. He has a straight forward attitude and imparts a cool vibe of acceptance."

I'd never ever cut this guy's class. He looks like Willard Scott ate Darth Maul. That alone would earn him my undivided attention.

Royksopp - Eple

I saw this great ad on TV that featured a dope remix of a Royskopp track, and it got me searching for this song which I fucking love. And the video just happens to be full of retro goodness, so I thought I'd share.

The Executive Coloring Book

fexecolor08

You can never go wrong when poking fun at the culture of executive automatons. My favorite line: "Color my underwear important." Check it out HERE.

Polysics - Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto

Another wicked cool video from Polysics. This one features a giant robot that smokes cigarettes and fights children. Maybe you didn't hear me right. It has a robot that smokes cigarettes and fights children. Perfect perfectness couldn't be more perfect.

Ping Pong Pixel

1861890036-l

Some students at the University of Leiden created a machine for a Graduation project that takes pictures and pixelates them and uses ping pong balls to make wicked cool art. (watch video of the process here.)The results are nothing short of amazing. How much would I kill to have Charles Bronson ala ping pong ball in my living room.

Buck Rogers Gets Jiggy

If I owned my own TV channel, I would devote at least an hour a day to 70's Science Fiction. If for no other reason simply for the haircuts. Watch as Buck Rogers "gets down" to some retro-futuristic "rock". Honestly, one of the reasons I DJ'ed in college is because when I hit the dancefloor I looked alot like this. But somehow Buck makes awful dance a truly wonderful thing.
